The funny thing about forming a playgroup with moms at a postpartum exercise class is that all the kiddos are VERY close in age. This is great for the playgroup but once birthday season rolls around, it's a whole lot of partying.
Because we are reaching the end of birthday season, Linus has had a fair share of party experience. Today when I reminded him that it was Katie's party day, he immediately began singing the birthday song... only it was his personal version of the birthday song.
The Birthday Song by Linus
(sung to the traditional birthday tune minus a few syllables)

Happy cake. Woo! Woo!
Happy cake. Woo! Woo!
Happy ca-ake, woo, woooo!
Happy cake. Woo! Woo!
You can see where his priorities lie.

I love that.
I was going to say re:MMO - you have a great playgroup. We don't have that, so therein lies the socialization worries.
Back to the cake . . .
That is adorable -- and let's be honest, more to the point. I love it!
Very funny. For awhile, anytime Lily saw cake, she started singing the Happy Birthday song. Her version is basically, "Happy Birt-day to me!" sung over and over again. A bit self-centered, I think! I do like the cake-focused version.
we both laughed out loud :)
the parties are each a bit different...but there will be cake!
Too cute! My oldest called birthday cake Happy Cake too. At least now you know he understands the concept!
that is too funny. He definitely loves cake.
That is so cute! We will be back in Raleigh on the 29th, but will be busy with friends and birthdays until after the 8th, so drop me an email if you want to meet up at Pullen Park or Marbles!
