Clued In

Linus has a new afternoon activity and he rarely misses. He always makes sure to have Blue and his handy, dandy notebook ready before I hit play.

I figured after two years without television (with a few exceptions), it was about time to let him have a little couch potato time. Of course, it also helped that I found Blue's Clue, one of my favorite children's shows*, in the Netflix Instant Watch list.

Let me just say that those 23 minutes of tuned in time make the endless, miserable hot afternoons seem so much shorter.

*Yes, I actually used to watch it on occasion in college, and no I never used drugs. It was a 1000 times better than what my friends were watching - ahem, Teletubbies.

Kudos for making it two years -- we were close to that with JP, but not so much with CC. Jack's Big Music Show is another really good one as you're introducing short shows. Any enjoy those 23 minutes of actually getting something done!

Thanks to Noggin and Tivo, G does watch some tv. I miss them both now. Noggin has some great shows with music (Jack's Big Music Show and Yo Gabba Gabba) and of course Blue's Clues which were favorites of both me and G.

Too funny! We were just talking about Blue's Clues Steve v. Joe on the way to school this morning. I'm glad to see that you're letting Linus watch a Steve episode. He was the hands-down favorite in our house. (Although all agree that Joe is a better singer.)

We watched thanks to a box of old VCR tapes my sister sent me when my boys were around Linus' age. Her little ones were past the Blues Clues stage, and mine were just beginning.

... and when I was in college, everyone watched soaps... even the guys. ;D

We didn't even come close to 2 years. I blame Yo Gabba Gabba, which CC loves to watch and I love to watch CC watch. It is a boogie down fest.

Ah, Blue, Barney and Elmo--the trifecta of power helping mothers everywhere stay sane during the toddler years. They were my friends too.

I used to watch Blue, too.
