30 Days of MEme- Music for the Bad Times

Today is Day 13 of the 30 Days of Truth project. You can find an explanation and all the other posts from this series here.

Day 13 - A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough ass days. (write a letter.)

I think what has been intimidating me with this post is the "write a letter" bit. While some people write excellent letters to Tori Amos, I'm just not feeling it. So if you'll excuse me, I'll just lose the format and plow ahead.

I offer you instead --

A 90's Grrl's Angry Playlist
(Best played while driving around REALLY fast in shiny silver convertible.)

  • You Oughta Know -- Alanis Morissette
  • Friend is a Four-Letter Word -- Cake
  • B*tch -- Meredith Brooks
  • Strong Enough -- Sheryl Crow
  • Welcome to Paradise -- Green Day
  • You Don't Know How It Feels -- Tom Petty
  • I'm Sensitive -- Jewel
  • Just a Girl -- No Doubt
  •  I Will Survive -- Cake
  • Song for the Dumped -- Ben Folds Five
  • Father of Mine -- Everclear
  • Nice Guys Finish Last -- Green Day
  • Smack My B**** Up -- Prodigy
  • Goodbye Earl -- Dixie Chicks

Of course, my anger wasn't just limited to the 90's so here are a few more from my Angry Playlist

  • F*ck It -- Eamon
  • Heaven Help Us All -- Stevie Wonder
  • I Feel Fine -- Riddlin' Kids
  • Tyrone -- Erykah Badu
How about you? What's in your angry playlist? Did any of my selections stir up some memories?

Ah, Green Day! And I loved the Ramones, The Violent Femmes, the Sex Pistols, and the Beastie Boys for getting me through the rage of youth!

Oh yea... Love the Violent Femmes and of course the Beastie Boys. Those are all great for those angry times.

I love your Angry List! In fact, most of those songs were on my Angry List in the 90's, plus some Pearl Jam and Bush songs. Really, the 90's were perfect for Angry soundtracks everywhere!

I survived a lot of things in the late 90s by driving around in a (black) convertible with the music up loud -- great list!
