The Man Show

Every man I've ever known requires reading material in order to use the restroom. At my house, there will often be a stack of books and magazines sitting atop the bathroom shelf as back up in case a book is finished before the job is done.

That is why this morning when Linus told me his diaper needing changing and quickly ran off to locate a book while I prepped a diaper, I knew I had a man on my hands. He quietly (and calmly) looked through Ten Apples Up on Top while I got him cleaned up.

One day in the not-so-distant future, I'll be beating down the door to the library bathroom in order to drag him out so I can pee.

I can hardly wait.

I've never understood the relationship between a man and his toilet - I think they sit and prepare before the poop even starts to move! I have blackmail pictures of my boys on the toilet - while potty training. One is holding an apartment guide upside down!! My boys are so much more like me, no reading material needed...at least, they haven't requested any...yet!

That's a unique approach to avoiding a bad diaper!

Haha. Do you ever worry about all the germs that must be on bathroom reading material? Sometimes it really freaks me out. But of course there's always a book or mag. in all of our bathrooms. Maybe the germs just make us stronger :)
