The Way to Sit

He may look a lot like his dad, but there is obviously a little bit of me in there. Crisscross applesauce is not our style. We prefer to sit this way...


Legs splayed out to the side, bottom on the ground. The most comfortable floor sitting position there is. Your feet will never fall asleep again.

Oooo...but from a physical therapist's standpoint--not good for the hips! It's called "W-sitting," and we encourage parents to discourage it, but it seems to come naturally for some kids with hypermobile hip joints. And realistically, it's a difficult habit to change! For most kids, it won't result in any problems.

For real... I've tried it. It's not physically possible for me! But I hate crisscross because my feet always fall asleep!
