Who's the Fairest of Them All?

Linus has never enjoyed riding in the car. He wasn't a baby who could be soothed by a car ride. Instead, he would scream, fuss, and scream some more as soon as we were within view of the car seat. Mostly, I think, it is because he hates being restrained. He's a mover and a shaker. We've tried toys, riding in the back with him, everything we could think of. Car rides were always excruciating. That is, until... the mirror.

A simple mirror, nothing fancy. It's just something that allows us to check on him even though he is facing backwards in his new ginormous seat. However, to Linus, it is everything. Now, he can spend time enjoying himself.

Car rides are now full of giggles, squeals, and smiles. He just loves looking at himself. He thinks he's the most hilarious thing he's ever seen. The only thing that would be better would be sticking the cat back there with him. Nope... scratch that, then she'd be the unpleasant one.

I'm reluctant to say we have a permanent solution since we haven't gone a great distance but, for now, we have a happy baby.

That's smart! Our car mirror had a friendly Elmo head on it too.
