Eggs Over Easy

Over the past few nights, Linus has discovered that he can roll around in his crib the same as he can on the floor. As a result, he has begun sleeping on his tummy in a spot of his choosing. Every morning (and usually following naps), we get to play, "Where's Linus now?" He seems much happier this way since as an added bonus he has once again given up the 5AM feed and sleeps until after 7. Mommy and Daddy are absolutely loving the 12 uninterrupted hours he is again sleeping.

It was a little disconcerting at first, coming in to a face down baby that's still sleeping well beyond his usual time, especially since the mantra has been, "back to sleep." The general thinking being that tummy + sleep = dead baby. At least until the kid can do it on his own. Then he can sleep however he wants. It's only a matter of time before we come in and are greeted with some bizarre contortionist sleeping position. Don't worry, we'll take pictures.

Tummy sleeping = all is well with the world. I would probably have to be drugged to sleep any other way. I'm so happy that Linus now has the strength and coordination to do it on his own (and survive it)! :)

Just wait until you come in and he has assumed a standing position...still mostly asleep! When Lily first learned to pull up, she kept doing it in the middle of the night, and then she'd cry because she couldn't get herself back down. So sad, sleepy standing baby. Congrats on the 12 hours at night! Any luck with longer naps? We're still hoping for that one. Can't get a whole lot done in 30 minutes, as I'm sure you guys know!
