There have been busy, busy days around our house as we've been spending full days with my sweet four month old niece while her momma attends to some work.
The days have been full but not crazy as I tend to imagine when pondering another addition to our family. Instead, I'm so occupied that I really don't have time to dwell on the dishes that aren't getting washed or the time that I'm not actively engaging Linus. It's been great. Of course, it helps that Miss E is the sweetest little thing you'll ever meet.
Anyway, all this full time parenting got me mooning over the thought of more again. Sitting on the couch reading to Linus while feeding E, he leans over and whispers "I love you," to his cousin and follows it up with a kiss. It was too sweet so I asked him, "Would you want Mommy to have a baby for our family?"
He pondered this only for a minute before responding, "No."
He then followed that up with, "E comes over to play and then goes home. A baby'd stay forever.
Hoping to add enticement to the idea, I suggested how he could share his room with the baby. I should have known better.
"No. That's my room, not a baby's."
That was the end of that conversation.

Aha! He's a smart one, that Linus. He knows babies mean the older kid plays second fiddle for a while.
Oh how funny! I guess "sharing" is hard all the way around. But he is one sharp kid isn't he? Meemaw
Luckily, it takes (at least) 9 months, so L would have plenty of time to warm up to the idea. ;)
I have the opposite issue. Lily recently commented that we should give Liam a baby brother for his first birthday. Yikes -- don't think so! I bet Linus would be a very sweet, protective big brother...even if he did have to share a few things!
