Like Jane Austen, Only with Computers

One of my favorite bloggers, Green Girl in Wisconsin, has kindly bestowed a bloggy award upon me and I couldn't be more honored. She is one of my favorites.

You see the way this whole blogosphere* works is through linky love. That means someone links to you, other people see that link, and come visit. Visits typically should lead to comments and comments are the reward, feedback, and money behind a blog. Bloggers thrive on comments. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I check my comments during the course of a day.

Of course, a considerate blogger (or at least one not overwhelmed by real life) will often return the visit and perhaps a new bloggy relationship is established. It really is very similar to the calling cards of the Austen days.

Sometimes just leaving a comment somewhere will draw someone to your blog. I will often read the comments on some of my favorite blogs and visit new blogs I find there. That's how I found Green Girl. She left a comment on At Home with Susie, a fellow Triangle Mamas blogger.

That's pretty much how this whole thing works. So, if your reading this, please take a moment to hop over to Green Girl, leave her a comment, and visit the other blogs she awarded the prize to. You never know, you might just find a new daily read.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now the moment you've all been waiting for, the awarding of the prize to five bloggers I love reading.

Midwest Mom whose blog always provides great advice and tips.

Nikki at A Small Song whose writing is beautiful as is her daughter Abby.

She's back. Marty, aka Canape, is back to blogging at Don't Take the Repeats. She's also the founder of Triangle Mamas who can write both serious and hilarious with ease.

Tumble Dry is a new read for me but with a perfect mix of sentimental and real, Amanda makes me smile.

Last but not least is my good friend Corrie. I've known Corrie longer than I've been blogging but when she started her blog, I've really been able to get to know her. I feel like I really have a sister in motherhood out there.

So, take a moment to check out all those blogs, leave a few comments, and I guarantee you'll find something you like. Oh, and comment here too because you know I'm checking.

[*A goofy term but what else am I gonna call it?]

Thank you, Abby. I love that blogging gives Moms a chance to share what we know and even a laugh or two. (To be honest, I would come by your blog daily just to see what the baby on your header is hollering today!) ;)

Thanks for the recognition, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season. - MM

MM, You deserve it. BTW, the phrases that Linus is shouting in the header is actually my Twitter feed. My genius hubby coded it so it shows up there. It's my favorite part of my blog design.

Thank you so much, Abby - I'm honored! This is a bright spot in my otherwise sniffly, pinkeye-contaminated day. I'll be sure to pass the award on once I have the energy to post again. :)

Well, how could I not leave a comment after that? I, too, check my blog regularly for comments, but I pretty much have a loyal few and several known lurkers, and that's it. That's okay. I often don't have much of anything interesting to say! After today, though--yikes. Too tired tonight to write a new post, but it was a doozy of a day: tantrums, runny nose, a lump on the head, and finally stitches. I'll keep you posted! Thanks for my first blog award! (Sometimes I feel like you and I have more in common than any other moms I know--SAHM's, WAHD's, toddlers close in age--I feel like I could have written some of your posts myself!)
