30 Days of MEme- Addiction

Today is Day 15 of the 30 Days of Truth project. You can find an explanation and all the other posts from this series here.

Day 15 - Something or someone you can't live without, because you've tried living without it.

A few years ago, if you'd asked me for a list of things I couldn't live without the list would've been long:
  • Redken #18 Quick Dry Hairspray (I wrote the name from memory because I wrote it so explicitly for my husband for years.)
  • Cable TV
  • Soda
  • Coffee
  • L'Oreal Lipliner
  • Pantene Shampoo
But, I have. I no longer use hairspray because of the chemicals it contains -- ditto for the shampoo (I'm a Bronner's fan for even my hair. It looks better too.).

Although I do indulge in coffee, I gave it up for my entire pregnancy and nursing days without question. Steamed milk with a splash of hazelnut syrup is a suitable replacement. I still occasionally indulge in soda, but not on a daily (or multi-daily) basis.

Lipliner, well, I don't have the time for that kind of maintenance anymore. Usually it's Burt's Bees gloss or lip balm if anything at all.

Lastly, cable tv. This was one that actually caused me to experience withdrawl -- evenings were spent gnashing my teeth over the loss of awards shows. Now, I rarely even think of it. [Except when I do, and the gnashing begins anew.]

But there is one thing, just one thing, that I absolutely CANNOT live without - not that I've tried because heaven knows I don't even want to try -

Popcorn.

No way. No how. I am NOT giving it up. I don't know what it is about that salty, crunchy goodness but I crave it -- like on a near daily basis.

I can hardly travel without finding a popcorn resource. (A problem that is compounded by my refusal to suffer microwave popcorn.)

  • Visit to Black Mountain for Thanksgiving week? Bag of kernels purchased.
  • 4-day visit to in-laws at Christmas? Bag of kernels purchased.
  • Snowbound in Kentucky following Christmas visiting? Husband dispensed to movie theater for a bucket.

Oh, popcorn --

How about you? What can you just not quit?

Coffee, lip balm, wireless internet connection, my favorite yoga pants, NPR. (None of these have chemicals;))

You are hilarious! Love this post. And the one thing I cannot quit (even whilst feeling barfy) is ice cream. I'm especially excited for all of the holiday varieties coming out (hello, peppermint).

Oh that made me laugh :) You are too funny!

AND I had a long saga with forgetting to renew my domain, so my url is now www.coordinatedchaosblog.blogspot.com. Worst.URL.Ever. But, sigh.

Hope all is well; I need to get the kids back out to the museum soon for the Christmas train!
