Three Things I'm Loving Thursday

I have lots of little things I always want to share. They're mainly things I love and want to recommend, but they don't seem to warrant an entire blog post. Therefore, I'm gonna just devote this post to three things I'm loving right now. Maybe I'll do it again next Thursday, maybe not. Only time will tell.

Without further ado, three things I love --

For Me (or You)
-----------------------

Sseko Sandals- This is a company (based in Kansas City) that claims to be a "not-just-for-profit company". That means, the manufacture of their product (these gorgeous sandals) does some good. In the case of Sseko, it's helping women in Uganda break the cycle of poverty through education, an education that Sseko helps them pay for. To read more about their not-just-for-profit philosophy go here. To order these super cute and customizable sandals, go here.

I got mine a few weeks ago. It's the second pair I've purchased. After gifting them to my sister-in-law because I knew she'd dig the style and the company goal, I promised myself a pair when the weather got warm. I love them and I think you will too.

For the Kid(s)
---------------------
I just finished reading a fantastic book called Wordsaroni. It offers numerous ideas for "playing with language" with your preschooler. The ideas are simple - the kind you'll go, "Why didn't I think of that," and it's a FAST read (under an hour from start to finish). I checked my copy out from the library but now fully intend to purchase it. As a mom, there are just times that I draw blank for things to talk about in the car, in the check-out line, and at the supper table. This book fills those gaps with word play you can feel good about.

For the House
-------------------
I found this idea on some message board somewhere in the great big internet. I can't for the life of me remember where but I can say it works. It's a recipe for foaming handsoap that is CHEAP, non-toxic, and, best of all, easy to make.

Here it is. Mix 5 parts water to 1 part Dr. Bronner's. Refill any foaming handsoap bottle, and laugh instead of weep as your child washes handful after handful down the drain. Kids just love foaming soap.

There you go. Three things I love on this sunny (at least here) Thursday afternoon. Maybe I'll try it again next week. Maybe.

My readers know this, but just in case. I don't get paid for anything on this blog... not one recommendation, link, or product is purchased. Everything I recommend was purchased by me, for me.

Love this post! Those sandals are too cute, and I'm all for shopping for a good cause. Thanks for the hand-soap rec, too. Small Fry goes through about a bottle a week. :)

Thanks for the awesome tips! I love the hand soap idea-- we go through that stuff like crazy!

And I've never heard of Wordsaroni-- I'm always trying to think of things to talk about with Big Roo!

All three sound so fun--but especially the book!
