Toddler-friendly Gift Tags

If you're like me, you like to try to include your toddler in everything. This year with Linus pretty aware of all the Christmas happenings, we want to include him as much as possible. Part of this inclusion means being the "elf" or gift passer. We want him to be able to find a gift under the tree for the person who's turn it is to open.

Of course, as he is only two, he can't read. But not to worry, I came up with a solution that negates that tiny little problem.

I created gift tags with a photo of the receiver. It required minimal supplies. A set of tie on tags (like you'd use for a garage sale), sticker paper for the printer, a circle punch the same size as the tags, and a printer.

I did fancy them up a bit more by adding fun holiday patterned paper circles to the back with glue but that isn't necessary. You could just as easily put the giver's name on the backside for clarity in a larger family.

Now, Linus will be able to go under the tree, locate a package for a specific person, and bestow it upon the lucky receiver. All without having to do the back and forth of "who's this one for, Mommy?"

Ooo, that one's for me!

Although, please try to ignore the creepy remnants left behind.

(I like to think of those as gift tags for psychopaths.)

Would you quit already? You're making the rest of us mere mortals look bad! I think I typed this yesterday too, but...brilliant!

That is so cute and clever! Back in the day...before all this technology, we taught Mr. T his initial and Santa labeled gifts with a big Red "T" for him.

GG, I actually thought about that too esp for the coming years when he's learning letters. Then we'll use monograms to identify packages. It's so much fun when the little ones can be involved too.
