"The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." -Mark Twain
You'd think after a whole week without my laptop and being almost entirely cut-off from the internet, I'd have all sorts of new ideas for blog posts. Not so. Instead, I'm busy trying to reconfigure my computer back to the way I had it before the crash.
There was good news however in that my brother-in-law was able to recover all of my data from my old hard drive so no pictures, videos, or music were lost. We have now purchased a new external hard drive on which to back up all important, cannot lose items in addition to purchasing a new hard drive for my laptop. We were also lucky that we were able to locate the restoration discs for Windows and did not have to purchase a new copy of that. The actual amount spent on recovering from my hard drive trauma was not nearly as frightening as I had expected.
So, now all that's left to do is reset my home pages, recreate my quick links, and download all the essentials (TweetDeck, Delicious, iTunes, etc). It's all taking some time but I am slowly but surely getting up to speed. Please bear with me a little bit longer and we'll soon be able to return to our regularly scheduled programming.

Welcome back! Glad to hear the recovery went well. Yay Jonathan! We have an external drive as well due to my fear of losing all of our pictures and music in a crash. You've reminded me that I need to actually save to that drive on a much more regular basis!
Seriously, I should learn from this! Time to convince Jonathan that we, too, need an external drive!
Glad you're back :)
You had technological SNAFUs... I had houseguests. Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging, but that's as it should be, IMHO.
Glad to have you back! :D
