Just Like Mommy

You can tell that Linus and I have been spending a lot of time together. He LOVES to do everything just like I do.

Sometimes it's helpful like when he "helps" clean around the house.

He's also very good about picking up toys since it's a requirement before Mommy will open the closet for him to take out another basket. He's come to realize baskets are for storing "picked up" things which sometimes just makes the mess worse.

Lately though he's been mimicking me in ways that don't involve chores. He loves to watch me put on make-up and insists on doing it too. Hand him an applicator sponge and he will dab at his face and has even helped apply concealer to mine. He also has his own eyeshadow brush that he uses to carefully dot at his eyes. This has really helped as a distraction while I'm applying my own. (And no, I'm not at all worried about this.)

Of course, his favorite way to be like Mommy is shoes. The kid has always had a thing for shoes, but he has now discovered the abundance of options that my closet holds. On any given day, you can find at least five pairs of my shoes strewn about the house.

Now, if only I can get him to fold laundry maybe then I'd be able to catch a minute or two of daytime television. As it is, I haven't seen Ellen or Oprah in years... two to be exact.

So sweet! Imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?

JP still wants to use my make-up and he's almost 4. But he's mostly stopped wearing my shoes -- of course, now CC is the one leaving them all over the house. Maybe they can get together with L soon and compare notes :)

This is too cute - even my 11 year old boys occasionally borrow my flip flops!
