Cutting Edge

Anymore Linus is a study in perpetual motion; even when he’s just sitting in your lap, he seems to vibrate. Television used to distract him just long enough to get fingernails clipped or sunscreen applied, but that doesn’t always work these days. The kid never stops. He even flips and flops his way through sleep.

We knew we’d have to call in the experts for the first haircut, lest we maim our son trying to do the job ourselves. That is how Linus came to have a 3:15 appointment at Peek-A-Do, a children’s salon where distraction is the styling tool of choice.

In the end, an experience that could have been fairly traumatic (especially for the grown-ups) ended up being just a bit of weekend fun. Now if only Peek-A-Do had something to distract this mommy from missing the blond curls that used to adorn her baby's head.

He's still as handsome as ever, but it is sad to see the curls go! I'm glad he enjoyed it though! It's amazing how grown-up they look after the first haircut.

It's really such a bittersweet moment, isn't it? He's adorable with or without the curls. What an awesome choice you have in the peek-a-do salon...I wish we had something like that here. You are so lucky!

I admire any stylist who can trim a toddler's hair and have it look good!
