It was definitely one of those days. We were on our way to playgroup, we really were.
But... it was one of those days where everything is just overwhelming. Linus refusing to nap, finally falling asleep late in the morning, being unable to find anything to wear (me not Linus), looking at the long list of chores to be completed, doing the car seat battle with straps that refused to cooperate...
Finally, we waved our white flag and just gave up. It was already 20 minutes past start time and we hadn't even left the house. So, we decided to call it a day. We put on our sweatpants and settled in for a lazy day at home.
And we all felt better...
Moral of this story: The laundry can wait and sometimes you just have to throw out the schedule and do as you please.

Amen! I have learned that lesson myself. Besides, getting out and about in the winter -- with the extra bundling, and hats, and carseat straps that won't fit over the extra bundling -- sometimes it's just more work than it's worth. I say, bring on the sweatpants!
